    Very informative video. I rebuilt my toyota engine, and it fired up on the first attempt. However, I noticed within a minute that exhaust pipe overheating and compression loss. I was confused and thinking where to diagnose. now your presentation explains well. Please let me know if i need to test something else. Tku

    • @MasterAutomotiveTraining
      @MasterAutomotiveTraining 3 дня назад

      Tell me more. The exhaust is getting excessively hot? You ran a compression test and saw low compression? Have you tried testing engine vacuum?

    • @dawitkassa3131
      @dawitkassa3131 3 дня назад

      @MasterAutomotiveTraining Thank you for your response. Ya, the exhaust tuns red hot in 30-40 seconds. RPM was also high, I assumed it was cold start. I did the tests you mentioned; and Cylinder 2&3 compression was lower than the others two. I pulled the cylinder head and made all side block deck surface measurements. As I suspected, I found low spots in the middle, the center deck of 2&3. cylinders. I am not a rebuild specialist, but I think huge compression escapes in between these two cylinders that cause blowby. Also, i found dark oil lying over the head.The almunium head measurement looks good because it was resurfaced. I don't know how I forgot to resurfacing the deck. So, I guess the chances might be to pull the engine out for deck resurfacing or do the resurfacing manually without pulling the engine. Someone suggested using a graphite head gasket for better sealing. Thank you again

    • @MasterAutomotiveTraining
      @MasterAutomotiveTraining 4 дня назад

      Hard to believe but it's not coming for the tool to cause damage either the end user or the vehicle will. Only a few things can cause damage, if you have a euro car with an aftermarket radio, or you have a faulty bus that when a scantool connects can lead to damage. In my experience I've never seen a scantool damage a module.

    • @MasterAutomotiveTraining
      @MasterAutomotiveTraining 4 дня назад

      Being that I'm sure this is a FCA vehicle, these modules are known for crashing, it wasn't the scantool.

VEHICLE DRIVES 26km then feels like a misfire or disconnect and looses all power. No indicators no hazards no HUT no fault light on the dash or EML on, but, there’s a rake of history codes all relating to communication. Too many to actually find a starting point! I’m fried!

I don't think I can recomend any particular dongle since there are so many out there. Plus I'm fairly new to anything having to do with OBD. Prices vary widely (from the sub $20 to $99) depending on the wireless or wired connections. Amazon carries Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB corded dongles. Bluetooth I think the type most purchased. From what I've seen you can't go wrong with a dongle that says it has the ELM327 programmed microcontroller command protocol.

  • @2notBeRuledbyFEARandHatred
    @2notBeRuledbyFEARandHatred 8 дней назад

    The story of the brake light is indicative of something that could be remedied if the government actually made it a law that every manufacturer had to give the auto industry the flow of operation in design of systems, as well as all of the variables engineered into each system, so we as techs could diagnose systems without being blind and playing a frustrating game of what might be how it is supposed to work versus how it works verbatim from factory. Instead, all the government and industry gave us was the universal OBD 2 connector. I, personally could repair anything more efficiently, if I just knew, for example, what each electrical circuit is required to do while it flows in and out of modules, computers and other electronics. Having a partial wiring diagram and not knowing if this circuit is flowing through this transistor once it reaches this voltage and then a driver shuts this circuit off at this resistance and when this other adjacent circuit receives this amount of current this happens, etc, etc... We need proper information. What we have to do every day is guess how a system, electronics and computer programming are designed to function. Mitchell, Identifix and Alldata do not have complete information and it is very irritating. A.I. on the net is not accurate as it chooses the wrong information and presents it as a fact lots of times. Nobody can afford manufacturer backed factory direct scan tools and their database for each make and model. I have been in the field for almost 40 years and the lack of proper service information, that is, complete information is terrible. Straight from factory vehicles are bad enough, but it gets really tough when working on things like Pierce ladders and engines... Wheeled Coach ambulances are terrible also. This industry stopped being easy when manufacturers across the board in every field decided making money was priority one and withholding repair information as well as equipment and software and rebuildable/repairable parts obsolete. I will continue to keep trying, but it is like you are constantly treading water and keep bobbing under. Oh well... that is my rant and it felt good!😂
