I notice some testers operate at about 30psi and this one at about 100psi. Does this make any difference?
Man, you make it seem so much easier than I was thinking lol made more sense with you explaining things!
love this, Thanks
Lightning strike my head - battery ground & #4 DLC voltage drop, never thought about that. That is the real bomber shaking my brain.
Will I be able to use any scope to do this test ?

Wow, thanks for the kind words and for watching.
Great video. Working to diagnose a misfire my CT200h. Just waiting on my tester. Being a Prius engine it's probably the head gasket 😮💨.
Could be, always test to make sure. You got this.
Saludos Master, muy buenos detalles para que el conductor nos facilite aprender que sucede con su carro. Mil gracias por el formato de entrevista. Didio desde Panama.
Muchisimas gracias por su apoyo, y muchos saludos desde el sur de California.
Very informative video. I rebuilt my toyota engine, and it fired up on the first attempt. However, I noticed within a minute that exhaust pipe overheating and compression loss. I was confused and thinking where to diagnose. now your presentation explains well. Please let me know if i need to test something else. Tku
Tell me more. The exhaust is getting excessively hot? You ran a compression test and saw low compression? Have you tried testing engine vacuum?
@MasterAutomotiveTraining Thank you for your response. Ya, the exhaust tuns red hot in 30-40 seconds. RPM was also high, I assumed it was cold start. I did the tests you mentioned; and Cylinder 2&3 compression was lower than the others two. I pulled the cylinder head and made all side block deck surface measurements. As I suspected, I found low spots in the middle, the center deck of 2&3. cylinders. I am not a rebuild specialist, but I think huge compression escapes in between these two cylinders that cause blowby. Also, i found dark oil lying over the head. The almunium head measurement looks good because it was resurfaced. I don't know how I forgot to resurfacing the deck. So, I guess the chances might be to pull the engine out for deck resurfacing or do the resurfacing manually without pulling the engine. Someone suggested using a graphite head gasket for better sealing. Thank you again
👍👍
Thank you for watching.
Very good info!
Glad it was helpful!
With your videos I I’ve been able to Pass A6,A7, and X1 all with in a week apart of each other thank you so much for your help!
Great job my friend! I'm super proud of you, keep up the great work!

Thank you so much for your kind words and for watching my videos! I'm glad they've been beneficial to you in your A8 engine performance test!
Saludos.
Great video I have the d7s, still learning tips on using so thanks for video. I do have a question though. How would I know which obd2 option to pick for my vehicle ? The newest I have is a 2004. Thank you for the great content!
Thank you for watching. It depends on the vehicle. Pin 2 is VPWJ1850 GM&Chrysler, Pins 2&10 PWMJ1850 Ford, 6&14 CAN Most 2008 and newer, Pin 7&15 can be either ISO 9141-2 or KWP. With lots of practice you'll know what protocol to select with using auto.
SORRY BRO BUT XTOOL iS A PIECE OF CRAP I WILL NEED A NEW PCM FOR MY CAR JUST BECAUSE XTOOL SOFWARE IS GARBAGE GOOD LUCK FOR THOSE WHO GET XTOOL
Xtool damaged your pcm?
Probably will need a new pcm because the dealer told me if they flash it and it doesn't go will need to program a new pcm .. the code I'm getting is p 1697 EMR (sri)MILLEAGE store which before I didn't had the engine light .. prior before using the xtool
Hard to believe but it's not coming for the tool to cause damage either the end user or the vehicle will. Only a few things can cause damage, if you have a euro car with an aftermarket radio, or you have a faulty bus that when a scantool connects can lead to damage. In my experience I've never seen a scantool damage a module.
Being that I'm sure this is a FCA vehicle, these modules are known for crashing, it wasn't the scantool.
Thank you amigo for sharing your knowledge G Bless
It is my pleasure, thank you for watching, and your support.
Gracias Master potty informacion. Saludos. Didio de Panamá 👍✅🇵🇦
Con mucho gusto colega, saludos desde el sur de california.
Really good usable information: thank you!
I'm glad you found the information helpful! Thank you for your support.
I really liked this video. I would like more videos on reading and understanding the PID values given on scanners.
Thank you for watching, I'll be working on more this type of content.
How about a hybrid with so many history codes your scan tool can’t read them? I have a GWM HAVAL H6 HEV with over 200 codes all history. VEHICLE DRIVES 26km then feels like a misfire or disconnect and looses all power. No indicators no hazards no HUT no fault light on the dash or EML on, but, there’s a rake of history codes all relating to communication. Too many to actually find a starting point! I’m fried!
Reads as if you have a communication issue. Check each module and see what module they say they can't speak to and focus on that module and communication bus to said module.
@@MasterAutomotiveTraining looked at this again today. Found a tow hitch module to have a bad connection point , I will drive tomorrow and see if this solves the issue.
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you for watching.
Thank you for sharing your expertise with the world! 👏
My pleasure! Thank you for watching and supporting the channel.
Great information…I’m studying that now ..I have been having difficulties to understand what are the most important pids to see before anything ..now I know and betters than that ,Why ! Thanks appreciate
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that the video is helping you with your diags.
Amém!
Do you have an online class that I can enrolled or something like that …Just God know how i would like to take classes in person from your School…Unfortunately I can’t because I have an 11 years old daughter that I’m sharing a custody which make me stay around all the time …I already thinking if possible to go and back every day but is impossible..12 hours drive a day …I used do it as a San Francisco cab drive but now is too much any way …Thank you so much Oscar to share it ..more !! And more !! Videos like that.blessings
@@MasterAutomotiveTrainingdefinitely this videos it was an essential part of the puzzle into my brain the way to connect almost 2 years of studying diagnostic …the key ..like gas analyzing methods as well ..I learned from you how it is important .,I compared gas analyzing methods as An human when go to a doctor and the doctor asked for an stool exam .😅
And bold and iron too😊
What is your opinion on the smart phone OBD2 Apps like Torque? Are they useful and can those apps point users in the right direction when trouble shooting a vehicle? Maybe you can do a video on it.
I haven't used Torque, do you know what dongle works best with it? I have used and own the TopDon Topscan and I love it! Super powerful just like a $5k scanner.
@@MasterAutomotiveTraining First I want to say I really enjoy your channel. So many things to learn from it. I don't think I can recomend any particular dongle since there are so many out there. Plus I'm fairly new to anything having to do with OBD. Prices vary widely (from the sub $20 to $99) depending on the wireless or wired connections. Amazon carries Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB corded dongles. Bluetooth I think the type most purchased. From what I've seen you can't go wrong with a dongle that says it has the ELM327 programmed microcontroller command protocol.
Thanks for the video. What’s your opinion of the BlueDriver Scanner
Great video! Love it! ✅💪💯
Thank you for watching and support! 😊
Like always , great info tha ks for sharing Can wait for next class on the bay area
Thank you my friend, we need to take a training trip up with you guys in the Bay Area.

Buen día, como menciono que tiene un Allosun, le pregunté cómo le gusta. Saludos
Brother! I watched your A4 video and it was great. Totally helped me pass. The first 30 minutes of this video is you talking about yourself. Wtf?
I can tell you didn't pay attention, first part talks about ASE process, how many techs have ASE and my reasons for helping the industry. At 15:58 we jump right into terms, unlike you unreal and false 30 minutes. You can always master it and create your own content if mine doesn't suite you or fast forward so you don't have to WTF.
@@MasterAutomotiveTraining firstly, I apologize. I went back and read what I wrote and it comes off way more aggressive than I was intending. Second, I don’t see how the amount of techs is pertinent to A6. I will watch again with a more open and attentive mind. ✌️
I must have been given a different L1 test there was no mention of Grandma's car.
She went to a different shop that day.
The story of the brake light is indicative of something that could be remedied if the government actually made it a law that every manufacturer had to give the auto industry the flow of operation in design of systems, as well as all of the variables engineered into each system, so we as techs could diagnose systems without being blind and playing a frustrating game of what might be how it is supposed to work versus how it works verbatim from factory. Instead, all the government and industry gave us was the universal OBD 2 connector. I, personally could repair anything more efficiently, if I just knew, for example, what each electrical circuit is required to do while it flows in and out of modules, computers and other electronics. Having a partial wiring diagram and not knowing if this circuit is flowing through this transistor once it reaches this voltage and then a driver shuts this circuit off at this resistance and when this other adjacent circuit receives this amount of current this happens, etc, etc... We need proper information. What we have to do every day is guess how a system, electronics and computer programming are designed to function. Mitchell, Identifix and Alldata do not have complete information and it is very irritating. A.I. on the net is not accurate as it chooses the wrong information and presents it as a fact lots of times. Nobody can afford manufacturer backed factory direct scan tools and their database for each make and model. I have been in the field for almost 40 years and the lack of proper service information, that is, complete information is terrible. Straight from factory vehicles are bad enough, but it gets really tough when working on things like Pierce ladders and engines... Wheeled Coach ambulances are terrible also. This industry stopped being easy when manufacturers across the board in every field decided making money was priority one and withholding repair information as well as equipment and software and rebuildable/repairable parts obsolete. I will continue to keep trying, but it is like you are constantly treading water and keep bobbing under. Oh well... that is my rant and it felt good!😂
